In 2024, the Florida House intern cohort worked with staff to host a dynamic Intern Seminar Series designed to equip Florida interns with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration they need to excel in public service. Florida House Interns produce the entire series as one of their flagship projects, showcasing their creativity, initiative, and commitment to making an impact on Capitol Hill. Throughout the series, emerging professionals participate in engaging discussions sessions led by seasoned experts and members of Florida’s Congressional delegation. The seminars covered a range of topics—from effective communication and leadership skills to innovative approaches in cultural programming and community engagement.

Here was our line-up for 2024:
- John Ryan Rodriquez: Legislative Aide to Congresswoman Laurel Lee (June 6th, 2024)
- Congressman Vern Buchanan (June 13th, 2024)
- Maggie Mahfood: Director of Special Projects, The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer at the U.S. House of Representatives (June 20th, 2024)
- James Fishback, Founder of Incubate Debate (June 27th, 2024)
- Congresswoman Kathy Castor (July 11th, 2024)
- Speed Networking Session (July 18th, 2024)
- Congressman Aaron Bean (July 25th, 2024)

Our interns had the opportunity to learn from top-level speakers and gain real-world insights into the workings of a historic institution on Capitol Hill. The series not only bolstered professional development but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose among the students. We are proud of the progress and enthusiasm demonstrated by our interns and look forward to seeing how they continue to shape the future of public service in their careers.
